"It Takes More" is Ms. Dynamite's debut single from her first album A Little Deeper. It reached number seven in the UK Singles Chart in 2002, her second highest position reached to date on the chart.

Ms. Dynamite performed the track at the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park, London.

When the single was finally released in America, there were rumors that the song was directed to rapper Lil' Kim, however the rumors were dismissed by Ms. Dynamite.

She has taken some inspiration from the song "Chitarra Romana" [1]

Versions

There are two versions that were released, album and radio edit. For the "Radio Edit" Ms. Dynamite had re-written her lyrics instead of using the censor option, which is more popular among artists who release singles with inappropriate content for radio. American HipHop rapper Trina is known for re-writing verses for songs she plans to release as singles. The "Radio Edit" was released on promotional singles only. On "clean versions" of A Little Deeper a censored version is used bleeping out inappropriate content. The "Album Version" was released on physical UK CD singles.

"Album Version" The shit that you promote, fighting, fuckin', like you don't want to grow. Your talking so much sex but you not tell the youth 'bout AIDS, you not tell them 'bout consequence, no. Your talking like you a G, but you are killer killing your own, your just a racist man's pussy. Tell me who wants to know, what when who where or how you do your hoe's

"Radio Edit" The things that you promote, fighting, violence, like you don't want to grow. Your talking so much sex, but you not tell the youth 'bout AIDS, you not tell them 'bout consequence, no. Your talking like you a G, but you are killer killing your own, your just a racist man's fossey. Tell me who wants to know, what when who where or how you lose control
